Özet
This study aims to examine the impact of logistics performance on economic growth, with a specific focus on Türkiye’s position relative to the top ten countries ranked in the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) as of 2023. Acknowledging the strategic role of logistics systems not only in transportation but also in trade and production processes, the analysis incorporates key macroeconomic variables including export and import growth rates, labor force participation, and LPI scores. Utilizing panel data spanning from 2007 to 2023, the research applies a Fixed Effects model to assess the relationship between these indicators and GDP growth. Preliminary analyses through a correlation matrix and robustness checks including F-statistics, Variance Inflation Factor (VIF), and the Hausman test validate the model’s reliability. The findings demonstrate that both export and import growth rates have a statistically significant and positive effect on economic growth, underscoring the centrality of international trade, particularly high value-added exports, in fostering sustainable development. Conversely, the LPI and labor force participation rate—while yielding positive coefficients—do not show statistical significance, suggesting that the influence of structural logistics infrastructure and labor dynamics may unfold over longer time horizons and are affected by factors such as labor informality and productivity levels. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for Türkiye to prioritize export quality, invest in logistics infrastructure components, and enhance labor efficiency as part of a comprehensive growth strategy, thereby offering empirical guidance for evidence-based policymaking.
