Abstract

Factory automation requires smart solutions to handle its managerial burden. This paper is focusing on the development of intelligent agent technology and application of that technology to a paint & prowler company. We represent an multi agent-based approach to manage and control of production lines. Our overture is to design an additional module to the existing ERP system called Agent Based Production Line Monitoring System (A-PLMS) that is consist of multi-agents with different system roles. Intelligent agents work in many jobs respectively; monitoring and analyzing production lines, compute optimum and maximum process durations of each stations and maintain data integrity of the database. Additional to this, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is used for integration of existing applications. © 2011 IADIS.
