Özet

The purpose of this research is to determine the effects of the transformational, instructional, cultural, visionary and ethical leadership styles of school principals on the job performance of secondary school teachers. Relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The population of the research consists of 2194 teachers working in public secondary schools in the KuQukgekmece district of Istanbul in the 2021-2022 academic year. The sample of the study consists of 318 teachers selected by simple random sampling method. “Demographic Information Form”, “Leadership Styles Scale” and “Teacher Performance Scale” were used to collect the findings. Before the analysis of the data, it was checked whether the data were normally distributed, and it was determined that the data showed a normal distribution. Frequency, percentage, mean, minimum, maximum, standard deviation, correlation and simple linear regression were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the research, it was determined that teachers’ opinions were high in the sub-dimensions of transformational, instructional, cultural, visionary and ethical leadership. It has been determined that teachers’ opinions about the performance scale are at a high level. A low-level significant positive correlation was found between leadership styles and teacher performance. In addition, it was concluded that leadership styles were a significant predictor of teacher performance.
