Abstract

Blurring is a crucial problem in the field of image processing because it causes an unintended loss in bandwidth and thus a decline in image quality. Blurring can be caused by a number of factors, such as atmospheric turbulence and incorrect camera settings. Moreover, noise in images can degrade image quality. As a result, restoring degraded images is a technique for removing blur and recovering the original image. Blurring can be of several forms, such as Gaussian blur, motion blur, etc. In this paper, the theoretical and mathematical impact of blurring on the Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) value of an image collected from an electro-optical satellite is investigated. Many approaches and strategies are utilized to restore blurred images. The research focuses on the effects of reducing blurring from images collected by an electro-optical satellite on MTF values. The performance of three deblurring algorithms on electro-optic satellite images was tested using MTF in this study.
