Abstract. The purpose of this research is to investigate the mediator role of self esteem in
relationships between high school students’ academic procrastination and perfectionism. For
this purpose, 683 high school students (381 (55.8%) female and 302 (44.2%) male)
constituted the study group of this research. As data collection tools; Personal Information
Form, Academic Procrastination Scale, Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale, and Rosenberg
Self-Esteem Scale were used. In the analysis of data, confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson
Correlation Analysis, Bootstrap analysis to determine the significance of the intermediary
effect, path analysis to determine the intermediary effect was performed. As a result of
research, it is observed that there are significant connections between the variables. It is
found that there is complete intermediary role of self esteem between academic
procrastination and perfectionism. Besides, it has been found that self esteem has partial
intermediary role in the relations between academic procrastination and subscales of
perfectionism excepting family expectation subscale.
